I was visiting a friend in Philly a few weeks ago, and had heard about Eastern State Penitentiary. I was hesitant at first because although much of the prison is left in an abandoned state, the place is also swarming with people in many parts. I did my best to keep the tourists out, and to my surprise I captured some photos that do retain the mood of a true abandonment. Enjoy!

Most people mess up textures/flat settings by getting them at juuust the wrong angle, you pulled if off well here, especially with Star of David and Ceiling. Great set, looking forward to seeing more of your work!

It may be a 'tourist' location but it's still a wonderful place to visit, I myself may make a second visit there when I'm in Philly in a couple of weeks.

What AWESOME lighting captured in your shots! Ya know, I've seen this place done and redone by at least 10 different explorers through the years and i never tire of seeing it. You even managed to get some excellent fresh perspectives. GREAT job on these!

Don't take this personally - it's not meant as such - but I don't understand the whole not going here because it's a tourist attraction, yes it's not 'urbex' as such but the place really is amazing - in decay, history, and size. And the fact you are free to wander round at your own pace not tied to a tour group so you can spend as long as you want there.

Easily one of the most beautifully decayed places I know of. And you did it justice with your photos! Love the angle in #3!

As far as I know Dual-ISO is only a feature available with Magic Lantern. I shoot with a Mark II usually and it works great in the right situations. Just have to be careful sometimes because you can lose contrast and color if the camera's limits are pushed too far.
