1. I'm up a hill in an abandoned neighbourhood, overlooking a valley where there's yet another abandoned neighbourhood. None of that one is identifiable from here.

2. Nobody will see those abandoned building behind these blankets.

3. Over in the second abandoned area, this two-storey apartment building looks familiar.

4. 2014: my parents descend the stairs with some difficulty.

5. Today, the narrow alley, unreachable by cars and moving vans, is decorated with all sorts of beautification street art.

6.

7. Opening the front door, there's still a Terminator poster hanging from the bedroom door.

8. 2014: My friends Jeff and Trash invite everyone over for American Thanksgiving.

9. 2014: Jeff and Trash with the members of their punk band ...Whatever That Means.

10. 2014: While the former drummer sits off to the side.

11. Today, their band stickers are still on the wall.

12. 2014: Friends gather in the kitchen.

13. Gone.

14. Vague memories past glory.

15. I missed this one because I was moving.

16. An abandoned cat toy.

17. 2014: Its lost owner on top of her owner.

18. This one I was at. It was the show of the year.

19. Hey, they left my zine with a mask image behind!

20. 2014: Hey, they tore my zine in half!

21. The wife is preparing to be a tattoo artist, so this might be her work.

22. They moved out without finishing the sweeping.

23. 2014: Recording a music video in the same room.

24. The roof is empty except a big puddle.

25. 2014: overrun with punks.

26. 2014: the drummer is ready but the neighbours are complaining.

27. 2014: Jeff and Trash visit each neighbour to personally apologise for what's about to happen next.

28. No neighbours left to complain.

29. 2014: Having a forced fun time.

30. 2014: Punks and skinheads are drinking on the fucking roof.

31. Just birds now.

32. 2014

33. Time to go.

34. Yes, I'm visible in a few spots. Look for the white guy with glasses who probably has a camera out.

TL;DR: my friends moved away because of urban renewal. They moved just one subway station away, to an even nicer place with an even better roof. While living here, they had many parties, barbecues, and American Thanksgiving dinners, and even recorded a music video for their band's song "Sixty-Eight, Twenty-Two," which is the distance from where they lived in the US to return to Korea. The song is about how the American lead singer considers Korea his home now.

Very cool, nice set and write up. I enjoyed the song as well, I'm gonna do a little digging into their catalogue.
