Here are a some shots I took at an old factory by a railroad. I don't really know what the building was used for, so if any of you can tell from the photos, it'd be much obliged. From what I can make it of it, I see it as like a shipping, receiving, and cargo weighing station... But what do I know haha!

1. Insulator with vines growing on it

2. More insulators

3. Very intriguing scale. Would love more info on it

4.

5.

6.

7. Super cool wall safe on the second floor that was almost residential or like an office

8. Broken window and transformer

Getting around was an awesome adventure! The stairs to the second floor were demoed (pesky city workers!) So me and my friend had to jump up, balance on pipe and gingerly walk across it like a tight rope right over a metal dumpster full of mysterious disgustingly green water. Once across the pipe we had to shimey on another pipe while holding the gutter to get to the roof. Once there we had access to the second floor. Getting down we went to where the old stair case was and used a dormant, downed power line to rappel back to safety! I felt like I was in a movie or something!
There were some big vault doors on the first floor ( no idea what they were used for). They were about a foot thick, metal and concrete, and were numbered. I'll post pics of them when I dig them up.
If you can tell what the facility was used for I would love to know! If you need more pics or descriptions I've got a few less artistic ones on hand!

Great pics. Im guessing your hunch is correct as the scale outside appears to be for axels on trucks in order to keep the weights legal.

I really wish I could go back and get some more labels and details on the scale but the city removed it and are finally tearing down the rest of the building because of the new "mall" they're putting up down the road

I guess I learned that I need to make the most out of my first trip to a location... It may be the last I get to see of it

They're tearing it down? That's too bad. I've been meaning to get some nice shots of that sexy toledo with my new camera... Too bad.

I'm not sure what it was originally, but that building was definitely an art studio of some sort at some point. It might have been boarded up by time you got to it, but there was definitely a bunch of kilns/ovens in one of the hallways of the remaining buildings. There was also a bunch of trays for developing photos in darkrooms.

On the second story there were boxes of checks, all of them saying "Thiensville Bank". I don't know if it was a store house or if one of those buildings was a bank, but yeah.
