So how safe is it to explore Milwaukee. I've done it couple times but stayed in pretty "not sketch" areas... But it seems that the best abandonments tend to be in the "seedier" parts of town.

I guess I just want some personal input on your own experiences urbexing in Milwaukee and your take on the safety.

Just go in the day or with some friends and I think you'll be fine.

As a courtesy to the other locals though please keep the good stuff off the public part of the forums. We have precious few things to see here without blowing the rest of them all up.

Most importantly: Welcome!! Nice to see a fresh local face. I'm not too far away. Maybe we'll meet.

Alright thanks!
And yeah... They demo things in mke (and WI in general) way too fast, it's sad
Perhaps we will meet haha! I'm trying to find more contacts in this hobby and thought this would be a good place to start. I'm mostly at school (central WI) now but I try and make my way back to the SE! There's so much I want to explore there

I've poked around Milwaukee quite a bit. While not as cool as it used to be, there are definitely a few good spots and more waiting to be found. OD gives good advice. You should be fine during the day, even solo. Most of the city is generally pretty safe. Even in the rougher neighborhoods, the folks are pretty friendly during the day. However, I might stay off the north side for now...with the recent rioting and whatnot. Also, do watch where you park. Other than that, good luck! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Crackheads and gangstas consistently hang out in houses and little stuff, not bigger abandonments that explorers generally prefer. In Milwaukee, unless you're doing houses, I would be far more scared of trespassing tickets than I would of becoming a crime victim. But I have no info on how the recent turmoil has changed things.

I want to be different. But I want to be different just like everybody else, because if I really were different, everybody would think I was crazy and weird.

Iowa is Minnesota's bitch. There's an art to pooping.
