Built in 1930, this tuberculosis ward was intended to house victims of the deadly disease referred to at the time as 'consumption'. Tuberculosis was one of the most terrifying ailments to be stricken with for centuries, and "treatment" was usually isolation, as to not cause the spread of the sickness. Around the middle of the 20th century, TB was finally able to be controlled by the use of antibiotics, although it still kills millions of people in developing countries today. This hollow, broken, and overgrown sanitarium is all that remains of the suffering of past lives.

Pretty easily accessible location, probably well known too. Across the street from some houses, but they didn't seem to mind me walking by at 4 pm. The grounds outside are public property, no one will really bother you for just walking around and taking pictures it seems, but there is an active construction project going on behind the site, so that could possibly cause issues depending on their schedules and how much they care. There's a white crested building between the abandoned wards and that seems like it's still active/used, there's security alarm stickers all over the back windows and lights were on inside. There's basement areas, but I recommend wearing some form of protection, as they smell HEAVILY of mold, and are extremely damp. Other than that the only threat seems to be broken glass. Also my first time taking out my camera, got my first DSLR last week so this is my first attempt, any feedback is welcome!

Nice photos, though some aren't showing up.

That middle part is definitely alarmed by the way. Or at least it was when I set it off a year or two back.

Nice set of pics!

I always like shots like 2 and 4 that (I assume) are of the same area and compliment each other from the inside and outside.

No need to feel dumb, it's an error on their end. But it's still not showing up. I think you need to replace the links with the new one given when the photo is made public.

I've seen every photo here for the last two hours or so. Clear as day.

Strange, maybe it's on my end then. Now it's only one photo that's not showing up.

Sigh now the first 3 aren't appearing for me. If anyone else can't see them reply to this and I'll edit and link the pics again and see if that fixes it

Can't see the first three, but I like the others. I actually don't recognize this place, but the exterior looks pretty nice!

When you say police dog training... Do you mean the cute puppy phase of training or were you watching 100 lb man killers
