Be alert and carry a weapon of some kind ESPECIALLY if you're going somewhere without security. If there's security, i feel like you're less likely to encounter any dangerous individuals inside. If it's completely abandoned, getting caught isn't a huge worry, so your pocket contents aren't an issue. Potentially running into nutters is.

If you feel the need to be armed you shouldn't go there in the first place unless your business dictates it. A pocket knife ain't gonna cut it... minimum a fighting knife with a locking blade.

Avoid where the homeless live; that is their home.

ASP baton and a bowie knife is my usual choice.

Wouldn't really use the knife as a weapon in most situations though, unless i were being attacked by an animal.

How do you dismember the bodies after though?

You'll have an interesting time sooner or latter with the cops. Better be sure that blade length is legal to carry. The baton I wouldn't even bother with.

I agree, I feel like without experience using a knife, it's easy to have it turned against you.

For animals I rather have an oak walking stick.
I guess for stabbing homeless people with multiple layers of clothing a long blade knife is best
I prefer a 3-4" blade knife that can be concealed behind your forearm.

Idk, man. It only takes one crazy hobo to turn a situation upside down.

Buildings where you're circumventing security to get in are pretty unlikely to have anyone living in them. I mean... if they were, that's some bad security, and if you're worried about getting caught with weapons (depending on what the laws on those are around where you're exploring) it might be riskier to bring any. You're not going to have to fight a security guard if you get caught, just run.

Truly abandoned places without security, you never know what you'll find. There's no one actively keeping people out. You're also not likely to get caught in such a place, so the biggest risk isn't getting caught with weapons, it's needing them and getting caught without one. It's not just humans. The closest i've come to being attacked while exploring wasn't by i person, it was by a feral dog. I scared it off before it did, but it was being threatening. I had my bowie knife out, and if it had attacked it would have been a good thing i'd brought it, but kicking over an empty drum was all it took.

What doesn't make sense?

*groan* Welcome to the fucking planet...

Violent crime can and does happen anywhere.
Same goes for your next encounter with LEOs.
It's the game that moves as you play it.

Most common place you find trouble is on the street not in places where people rarely go.
Experience bears this out.
If anything I've scared a few kids out of abandoned complexes... oops.

A slaughterhouse?
That really gets the PETA people going

What's with the supervised bs?
It's a crime scene or it's not.
Abandoned means just that...
