Hello again! this was the first location that I had ever went to. The location that started my love for exploring and photographing abandoned places - Manteno State Hospital. I had first learned about this place online and I just had to check it out for myself. These pictures are from March 2016. I am not sure if the buildings are still there or not - when I was there, there was a lot of construction starting and a lot of the buildings were torn down already. Most of this hospital is gone or repurposed now but a lot of what was underground is still there and doable afaik..

i know! such a shame - these pictures are from March 2016. there were still quite a few buildings left. i dont know if that has changed since then. Im planning on going back in the next couple of weeks just to see. This is the first abandoned location that I have ever been to. Its what started my love for urbex exploration.

Excellent shots! There is currently only one building standing. I heard this last week from someone who lives in the town.

I was actually here last weekend as well! there's a couple that I had found. most sadly are demolished

Its a pretty epic location to start the hobby at. Glad you could see some of what was left of it.

4 and 12 are identical, except one is landscape and the other is portrait. What's the point in posting both?

I have always wanted to check this place out. Always thought it got demolished. Maybe I will go and take a look. Great pictures!

I do recommend to go soon! I was here a few weeks ago. Much different from when I first had gone back in March.. Bring bug spray!

I've heard that it's almost entirely re purposed and demo'd by now. My last visit was almost two years ago now. Thanks for sharing these shots, I had actually missed a few of these buildings.

Manteno is deader than Jesus. I was there around this time last year :/

theres still some buildings left! - you just have to find them I was just here a about 2 weeks ago, but yes, sadly most of them are gone now.
