Could Not Be Uploaded Due To A Server Error

Ho-kay, here goes.

When using the Quick Gallery Creator utility, selecting the "Rescale images" option seems to be mandatory if you wish to avoid a "could not be uploaded" server error.

This is perfectly understandable.

What I want to know is why do I still get a "server error" message even if I select the "Rescale images" option?

Important notes:

1.) This error does not occur with every photograph. Photographs with lots of foliage appear to be more susceptible. Out-of-focus copies of the same scene (I take multiple photos of the same scene while experimenting with aperture) appear to bypass the error while their in-focus counterparts might not.

2.) I am not sure if server-traffic affects the upload process.

Thanks in advance.

Love,

Banalzen

Based on number 1, my best guess would be that the file size is too large. I'd try making them smaller before uploading.

Files at 100K sometimes get das boot too.
Keep them under 100K.
Or use the old loader instead.

Post the Q to the mods if that doesn't work...

Hey, everybody.

Wanted to share some of what I found on compressing digital photographs (so that they fit on webpages like UER) without significantly diminishing their quality.

For Photoshop

There are two options: "Save As," and "Save For Web."

In general, "Save For Web" will be the most efficient method; however, as the second link shows, "Save As" may sometimes be preferred.

For Gimp

There seems to be only one option for Gimp/Gimp 2: "Export As JPG/JPEG" and manually alter image quality.

If you know of a simpler way to do this in Gimp/Gimp 2 please reply.

Android, the Reduce Photo Size app works nice for one shot conversions.
