Devil's Slide North Bunker

I've seen the more well known south bunker posted here previously but haven't seen many pictures of the north bunker. I had trouble attaching the images directly to my post so I included them in an Imgur album at the bottom of my post.

Although my original plan was to just explore the south bunker, as soon as I spotted the base atop the cliff I knew I had to explore it. There was a thick fog rolling in from the coast which provided some helpful coverage. While I was scoping out the ascent, I started chatting with an older man along the trail who said that he and his buddies used to throw parties in the bunker years ago before it was fenced off, which he admitted was a terrible idea looking back due to the cliffs surrounding the bunker and the perilous stairs leading up to it.

Finally when the trail was clear, I swung around the first fence and started up the trail. There is what looks like a large retaining wall at the base of the stairs where I hunkered down for 20 minutes waiting for the trail to fully clear. The stairs are completely exposed to the trail and even with the fog I didn't want to risk being spotted. The stairs themselves are covered in dirt and other debris, sure footing was needed. Once you make it to the top of the stairs, there are some steps leading into the first bunker, which is comprised of one large room with a ladder leading out the roof in one of the corners. Most of the larger tags have been covered up with white paint, and in the corner there was a bundle of firewood.

Upon climbing up the ladder out the roof of the bunker you come into a small cement square along with a rusty old watchtower about 50 feet tall. I chose to forgo the rusty ladder and instead just climb the support beams, which looked to be in much better condition. The view from the top would have been quite breathtaking if the fog didn't limit visibility to about a hundred yards.

The second parts of the bunker are actually one buried bunker with three levels, all connected by ladders. It was quite cool actually, and I could see why the older man and his friend would have parties here, theres a fair bit of room. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any pictures of the outside of the bunker since I was trying to remain as out of sight from the trail as possible.

Haven't seen too many picture of this bunker -- never tried it due to the exposure to the trail you describe, plus that staircase isn't for the faint of heart. Nice job getting in
