Redbull TV is releasing a 8 part series show called: "Urbex". The show will follow a group of explorers and their adventures/explorations. What is the communities opinion about the releasing of the show?

I see UER gaining about 50k new members that will ask all the same questions in all of the wrong categories. I see many abandonments destroyed. I see several news articles which we can laugh at.

If it has anything to do with RedBull, I doubt it will be a respectful bunch.

I guess time will tell.

Looking at the trailer, this show has absolutely nothing at all in common with what I do. It just means there'll be a lot more CCTV cameras and locked doors/alarms in skyscrapers and bridges. I don't give a fuck. It won't impact me in the slightest.

I hope the show includes a shot of one of these narcissistic douchbags plummeting to their death.

I have a feeling that this show will portray UE in a ridiculously unrealistic manner, and give people an impression about it that's just not true.

Given that it's produced by Redbull, I foresee many B&Es, cop chases, and stunts, when UE is actually about exploring and (usually) photography. In other words, the public might see us as trouble makers instead of explorers. Also, don't forget the idiots who do something stupid and hospitalize themselves, blaming it on urban exploration.

Overall though? We've survived one urban exploration themed show, and we'll survive another. It's not the end of the world.

Haha you do make a good point. I saw Oleg Cricket in the trailer so I'm assuming they'll have a lot of stunts and roofs stuff.

The 'urbex' that sells to the mainstream media is mainly, as peptic ulcer says, the narcissistic idiots who want to publicise/dickwave the fact they b&e their way to the top of skyscrapers or bridges, not the 99.9% of us who just like wandering around a decaying factory or some other site, having a laugh with mates.
