Rutland prison camp

I went on a long trip this weekend and visited the prison camp. There are lots of areas most people seem to miss, outside of the blockhouse and pump station. I was able to locate the TB hospital, school, factory and some other buildings as well. It is spread over a large area of woods. Other than the huge spiders in the tunnel, the weirdest part was finding that somebody had dug up a grave in the back of the cemetery. The prisoner graves are now unmarked as somebody also has taken what was left of the metal markers, and you can only tell where the bodies lie due to the human shaped 1 foot dips in the forest floor. That said, the 4 foot dip really stood out (though it filled in with pine needles somewhat) and it looks like the sad end of whoever was buried there got even sadder.

Your photos are not good (just being honest, sorry), but it's cool that you went and checked this out and posted a photo set. This is one of those places that no one ever actually goes to or reports the status of.

Thanks, man. I'm lucky I'm not a photographer. I'll post a few more I visited that weekend, shortly.

I've heard a bunch about this place. Shame it's plastered in graffiti, though. Looks like a neat explore. Will have to check it out if I'm ever in the area.

I went here about a month ago. Pretty neat! The small graveyard was interesting. You could see the raised mounds of dirt outlining the graves, even though unmarked.
