Urban legend has it that roughly two decades ago, the former tenant of these premises hanged himself with a cord in this house.

His body hung for such an extended period of time in the sweltering heat of Queensland until he was found but not before his body had reached an advanced state of decay. Although a clean up had been attempted, the stench was so intense the house was left to nature to deal with.

This house has always had a bad vibe, even before I knew its history. When I originally entered the house I walked to the front room. I was taking photographs when I heard some mumbled voices coming from a shrub which I thought was odd because this house is extremely rural. I started walking away expecting a squatter or local kids to approach me but no one came... I went downstairs to look around and heard some foot steps go up the back stairs, and continue to walk above the house.

I walked outside and looked up into the house and could see no one and certainly hear nothing more than what I already had. Even without the peculiar voices, there was a terrible vibe here and a pungent odour to the whole place. It was far more stinky than your average dilapidated abode... I felt unusually exhausted by the time I left this place.

So, who was there with me?

Whilst I initially gathered our dangling friend had a genuine interest in music and modern technologies (organs, casettes, video tapes and players, cameras, computers and televisions), it appeared as though that locals have made good use of this vacant site and had endeavoured to form this scarce plot of land into a dumping ground for unwanted rubbish.

Although I'm not one for tales of ghost and ghouls. I too am glad that you posted these photos with the story. I guess it added some variety. Nice stuff mate.

I was just thinking the other day, out of all the hundreds of places that I have been, all with no backstory, there must be so many that were abandoned after or because of a suicide. There was a farm here in Ontario that sat abandoned for many years after 8 bikers were executed and stuffed in cars on the property. I often wonder how many urban-explorers from out of the area just stumbled upon it as a ramshackle old farm and shot it without even knowing what happened.
