I'm supposed to be on vacation. I'm visiting my parents in Maine, and initially abandonments were about the furthest thing from my mind. While walking with my mom, though, she pointed out this old cottage. Naturally, I couldn't resist looking closer.

It's funny that you did some exploring on vacation. Mrs Ulcer always allows at least half a day for me to go exploring when we're on vacation. If we're out of the state or the country she also brings extra cash in case I get caught...

Good find and with temps pushing 108 here in Houston, that snow looks SO beautiful!

That's a awesome place. That's an Estey Organ. Very rare find for one like that. Did you try and play it?

Thanks a lot for the responses, everyone! This place had such a lovely, peaceful feeling to it. Being there felt totally natural, and I must have spent at least three hours there over the course of two visits. In general, this place was probably the single most well-preserved location I've ever visited, and it really inspires me to look closer at some of the vacant houses I see everyday.

Wow, this is cool info. The instrument was so ornate that at first I though it was just some sort of rolltop desk. I was completely blown away when I noticed the pedals and opened the cover! I didn't try to play it, since I was trying to be sneaky as always, but I didn't see anything that would indicate that it's not playable.

It's really hard to tell whether the people here were antique lovers, or whether it indeed is as old as it looks. Either way, the location makes for a great visit - thanks for the show.
