Hiked up to an 1920's logging town that closed in '66 with elementofone. We found lots of awesome stuff, remains of houses, stores, logging machinery, trucks ect. Unfortunately most of the buildings have fallen down from the snow I guess. There were lots of old glass bottles still around, some with raised lettering on them, and a whole bunch of old shoes. Also an oddly placed white car with the roof cut off and engine tossed aside.

Overall it was an awesome day, long day of hiking and a long drive home. Good times.

I love old stuff out in the woods like this. I could spend hours digging through glass bottles and whatnot.

Thanks guys. I love some of those old bottles with the raised lettering, especially when they're colored glass!

There are a few vehicles and some old structures scattered throughout the woods around my cabin. We were just up there over the weekend digging through a dump pile. It was most likely a local farmer who dumped stuff there from at least the 40s, maybe earlier until late 70s by the looks of it. Always neat stuff to be found in there.

That old colored glass can be pretty valuable. Especially blue and red.

Really cool location!
I dig these places that require the long hike. The obscurity somehow makes them feel even older than if, say, they were sitting right beside a new freeway development. The hike gives you time to feel like you're travelling back into history and can be quite calming.

That is, until you realize you forgot the 'quick-mount plate' for your tripod back in the car!!!
