Or that is what this was planned to be. Yeah, it's midsummer's eve today, at this friday, so it's day off from work and also national "get drunk" day. It's also our "17 years together" day, but my girlfriend is at Nummirock metal festival (I'm way too self-indulgent for 3 days drinking and freezing in tent so I'm at home).

So I did dream for weeks how I would return to this mostly abandoned lime factory, enjoy that loneliness and atmosphere slowly, without any need to hurry, find every photo possible...

And then I wake up at 4 a clock to horrible headache like I almost always do after work week, whole fucking neck and back totally stuck. Then sleep - no sleep - sleep - no sleep to 6 a clock when I did decide that it's same if I wake up now and get on the road. So I did and I did arrive there at 8 a clock.

Just to find out that EVERY building were sealed so damned well that almost everything were out of photographing, so that's all for that EPIC idea. Well, then you have to take what you can with your aching head, so here we go...

When Man Is Gone, Nature Will Come:

Turning to Green:

Rusting Pipes (From Either Side Should We Grow):

Over the Tower:

Wonder of Life (Over The Heating Oil Pipe):

Dry Season:

Temple of Never-Ending Echoes:

The Moment When Light Did Fall:

Let It Fall:

In the Beast:

-----

And after that "yes, I know I'm idiot so why not" selfie session to the off-topic-bonus-picture. Long time since my last horse bonus photo, so here we go with that subject:

Happy midsummer's eve and guess what: CHEERS!!!

Time to smoke some hash oil and get rid of that headache!

It truly sucks you were thwarted by a stubborn building-owner. This happens to me quite often.

Your self-portraits are magnificent! That "echo" room looks spectacular. At the least, you didn't go home empty-handed.

Congratulations on your 17th anniversary of deciding to tolerate your girlfriend's existence. It's good she tolerates you too.

Hyvää vuosipäivää!

So it does, but at some level I understand it. It have been unused since 1994 and especially roofs have been so fragile for many years already that it's actually quite amazing that anyone haven't die there yet. And yeah, I'm happy anyway of that trip; it still were much better than day at work would have been.

Thank you very much, or should I say: paljon kiitoksia!

...and now back to beer.

Hell yeah Wolf these are great! I love those self portraits and as Ed said, that room looks fantastic! Congratulations on the 17 years! I hope you're feeling better after that headache. I know those suckers can completely destroy your day. It's good you got out still because I really like these shots, even if you couldn't get into some of the places.

Thank you very much, and that day did get better, I did get rid off that headache and were able even to drink little at evening. Next set from last sunday is already waiting to be published at next weekend, we shall return to that amazing hydro power plant...

Great stuff as always dude! It's a bummer they have the place sealed up tight. We run into that quite a bit around here, especially as of late. You still got a bunch of killer shots though!

Nice set despite being denied the access you were looking for.
"In The Beast" is interesting! If you hadn't stood in there for the selfie, I would have completely assumed that shot was taken looking straight up.
