These huge imposing silos that can be seen for miles around are all that is left of a once large sugar refinery in the east of England which closed down in 2001 and was mostly demolished around 2008. I guess the cost of bringing these down with explosives was too much around the time of the economic crash.
This was a back-up explore after our original plans for that morning fell through because my mate was too fat to fit through the access point into another site but I ended up enjoying it a lot. The only bad part was the smells in some of the areas were awful, the combination of guano and fifteen year old glucose is really not pleasant at all.
If we had massive bollocks we could have scaled the side of the silos using the ladders left on the side and a bit of rope, but neither of us felt that brave!
