Although most of the buildings on site were closed in the 90s, this one in particular continued to house patients into the current decade. Unlike the other buildings, which are in ruins, this one has been maintained until relatively recently, meaning that it's mostly been spared the damages of time, and to a lesser extent, of vandals. This has put it in a strange place where some areas are pristine, others are vandalized, and a select few are decayed. You can be walking down a heavily tagged hallway, look to the room on your right and see a clean, intact room, and look to your left and see a room consumed by moss.

Flash photography proved to be fairly difficult without the ability to autofocus, and in the end I not only didn't bother photographing the kitchen, but we pretty much skipped out on the first floor entirely. Shame.
