Had two trips to a bowling alley recently. All lanes and pin setters have been removed, but a few relics of the past remain listing to water droplets in the back ground. Bowling alleys are dark, forcing me to bring the most amount of photography gear I have ever brought in by myself. I very much enjoyed peaceful silence of musty air while clicking away. Hope you enjoy...

Many thanks for posting the photos. Picture #7 surprises me in that none of those TV screens appear to have been broken by vandals.
There was a local bowling alley on the South side of Hamtramck that was torn down many years ago. As kids, we even had a bowling league therein. The pins from that alley became something along the lines of local 'icons' after the demolition was complete.

Thanks for the compliments, the alcohol was stored in a small room and many shelves, upon entering this room a strong odor of alcohol was present. There was some remaining in the bottles, but I did not take a nip...LOL, I am too much of a germ a phobe to do that. And all of the bottle tops where taken off too, all but the baileys. I assume they wanted it to evaporate. There was little vandalism and no tagging, except for a few bowling balls that went through the wall, I assume that's how they got cracked.

This trip I took my 50mm and 15mm, off camera flash, a very small soft box,a stand for the flash and two tripods. I used my hand held 50mm and flash for most of the shots the last trip. That allowed me take pictures in very dark areas. It makes me want to bring that every time, but in reality its just too much. With all that gear I had to park right up front!

I am a little jealous, I've always wanted to shoot an abandoned bowling alley. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the compliments, as for the cameras I am rocking the k-30 and k-3 by Pentax. I usually bring both, one with a 15mm and the other with a 50mm. It allows me to do detail shots and or small depth of field with the 50mm, and wide shots with the 15mm.

As for the bowling alley, its demolished now. I am glad I made the way out there. Too many times I say "it will be there" and when I am ready someone set it on fire or upped the security.
