Not your typical explore at all - I had to drive a 1985 VW from Tennessee up to Maine, so I stopped frequently to take pictures of the random stuff I found by the roadside.

It's my mom's - she needed another person who could drive stick to move it up from TN while she drove her car. It's an '85 but as far as I know it doesn't need anything. It actually ran great, although it's a little lacking in the acceleration and braking department.

Still, driving it like 1,200 miles up and down the mid Atlantic region and New England was a cool experience. It's got character for sure.

Nothing like driving one of these with the windows down on a nice (flat) two lane highway .
