I have a habit of re-visiting places soon after my initial trip, if there are parts of a site I don't see the first time around. In this case, I initially skipped the largest building in this complex, and to my taste, the most interesting. This is one of those buildings that doesn't look like it will be too spectacular at first, but just keeps getting better the longer you look around. It is long and narrow, at least the length of a football field, two and a half floors, with large troughs running the almost the entire length of each floor and huge chain-driven wooden rollers interspersed throughout. Little details and leftovers were plentiful. The basement was a real treat: it was entirely flooded, and we had to lay down pallets and planks to build a bridge over to a wooden walkway that ran the entire length of the building. I'm pleased to have been able to cross this off my list, because if any building is next on the chopping block at this under-demolition campus, it's this one. I also took the opportunity to revisit my favorite building from my last trip and cover it with a new lens. A five-star day all around.
