These were taken at the Gillette Castle State Park in CT - the building itself is used for tours, and the grounds are publicly accessible.

Lovin #2 The color of the sun and clouds as reflected by the windows is very nice and well captured....as is the green grown cover against the stone.

Are there many castles in CT? I think this is the castle we used to tour when i was a real little kid. My brother was stationed in Hartford, so we took quite a few trips out there to visit.

I'm not aware of any other than this - it's the castle that William Gillette (who played Sherlock Holmes on the stage) built as his house, up on a hill overlooking the Connecticut River.

I went there as a kid as well, although I don't remember if I went inside.

I think there's one in Danbury? Is that one still there?

As far as I know it's still standing, albeit not in the best shape ever.

Are there many castles in CT?

There are 5 castles. 2 are privately owned i believe, but the other are all in state parks.
