Another dead steel giant somewhere along a Belgian river. I've never really done these kind of heavy industry places because often they are so chaotic and hard to photograph; tubes end conveyor belts everywhere. I love a simple empty room as long as it's decayed.

But I did really enjoy exploring this. Not so much photography-wise I think, but just wandering in and out of buildings on this huge site and slowly starting to figure out the steel melting process. And to top it off, climbing the +/- 60 meters high blast furnace. I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty afraid of heights and this was the scariest thing I've ever climbed. The stairs are pretty rusty and my mind was constantly saying "you aren't gonna trust your life these old crappy stairs are you?!" "Well, so many explorers have done this so statistically I probably won't die"

Moving between groups of copper thieves doing their thing, this is what I made of it:

What an awesome place and spectacular photos. I love 23 & 40.

Sounds like a sketchy climb, too.

A set with 40 photos usually annoys me. I get bored around picture 12 but these are beautiful! Great set and wonderful photos.

Great set!! I swear I kept flipping back and forth thinking you were in Philadelphia. This place on the inside looks just like one of ours. Then I would see signs not in English. Great job though!!

Good gracious. I tried to keep up with favorites and then lost count. Those fins and that green pipe and your upshot. And awesome job with the lighting, natural and added. Beautiful set.

This is a stunning set! The place looks huge, of course you had fun weaving through the network of buildings, that sounds like a blast. That view up top is pretty nice too.

OhMy! What a Lovely Stupendous Set of Inviting Industry shots. I can see so many things in these photos. 18, 22, 24, 25, and 34 ftw. That looks like a bunch of gloved fingers curled up. I think i even saw the risers that made Prince's hips go bad lol.

WOW!!! This set absolutely rocks!! I can't even begin to choose a favorite here. This looks like a dream explore to me! Massive industrial spots like this are becoming harder and harder to find here in the states. Hands down one of the best locations I've seen on here in awhile.

When Peptic Ulcer said "A set with 40 photos usually annoys me", I first thought, "What the heck is he talking about?" I had to scroll back and look at the number on the last photo. Sure enough, #40. I had no idea!! I didn't even notice at all when I was checking them out one-by-one. There was so much that was so awesome, it was like the clock stopped.

Thanks for the kind words guys! I was worried that 40 would be too much, but it's hard to give an impression of such a huge location in only 10 pictures. I'm glad that it isn't really bothersome after all!

@pincheck

It's completely dead now and security is gone. During my visit I bumped into a total of four small groups of copper thieves doing their thing
