Abandoned power plant substation and accompanying tailrace tunnels. Old turbines, connecting tunnels and the large tailraces make up the basement levels of this plant. The upper levels contain various sights, such as electrical distribution equipment, lockers, and long tunnels with street names over where the electric supply connections to different areas of Minneapolis used to be. Part of the generating station is still active, but it has been bolted and welded with thick metal plates, making access from the abandoned section impossible. Light still shines out from several doors that connect the two parts. Fortunately or unfortunately, this location seems to be becoming less and less of a secret as time goes by. Pardon any blur/graininess, all photos taken with my GS6 edge.

| | | Posted by Dalmaticus Thanks for adding to the graffiti. Giant buck knife definitely makes you look cool.
| I'm behind the camera. Both of the guys in the pictures are my friends, not myself. As to the graffiti, there are hundreds of sharpie tags in several places inside, going back well over a decade, some as old as '93. I hardly think one more will make a difference. Happy exploring. ____________________________________ @relik, agreed!
