I am a photojournalist and an Urbexer. I have explored places on both the East and West Coasts. Right now I am an intern in Washington D.C and come June I will be interning in Chicago.

I am working on a project that involves photographing other Urbexers. I hope to also interview and accompany my photographs with a written piece.

I have a set of questions to get the conversation rolling but ultimately I just want to know more about the people who are willing to help me out with this project. There is also no pressure to be a part of the photo series that I am producing. I understand that a photograph risks anonymity.

My main goal right now is to reach out and meet others to learn their/your stories. So if you don't feel 100% comfortable with a photo, no worries. We can hopefully just talk.

1. How did you get involved in UrbEx?
2. What draws you to different locations?
3. Why does this activity appeal to you?

Maybe it's both, and the two cancel out.

I like to think they cancel each other out. But I assure you that I am here to meet and talk to people who are hopefully interested in this project. Feel free to message me with any questions. Im willing to talk things over with anyone who is curios about this project.

2. If they look like potentially good spots to drink beer, i check 'em out.
3. I find myself in interesting places, drinking beer, instead of my boring house.

Frankly, the gas mask look is played out and stereotypically lame. Lose that theme. It's like shooting everything with a fisheye. A little goes a long way.

Also the whole tagging/graffiti shit is so ugly, it's an abhorrence to anyone who really treasures the UE experience, IMNSHO. Pictures without it are better than any pictures containing it.

And in general, the people involved in UE are not the attraction, it's the locations and ruin porn that are the draw/art/appeal.
