Sadly this isn't an old fort as well, but rather a power station in a small mountain community of Old Fort. Which did have a fort at one point...just not anymore.

Unlike friends and family up in Canada, I was in North Carolina over the Easter weekend, enjoying bright sunny weather, and warm too while they were under cold grey near freezing weather. So after a morning checking out a local waste water treatment plant I drove out to the small town of Old Fort. It took me a bit to realize that unlike Canada were Good Friday is a Stat Holiday, here in the USA, people don't always get the day off work. So the active section of the old plant was still buzzing with activity.

After a false start I managed to get into the main plant. While a little small compared to other power stations I'd been in, this place only had a small factory to power. A pair of turbines, only one left behind and the infrastructure provided a decent place to shoot, and finally give my Hasselblad a chance to capture urban decay.

While inside I started to hear a bit more activity outside, thinking it was others from the meetup I headed back downstairs to investigate, only to find that no, it was some local kids on BMX bikes messing around. Rather than risk them letting the folks working near by know that someone was trespassing, I decided to walk out, having nearly shoot my second roll of film.
