...built and sold as housing in the 1960's, and left for dead...basically since. I believe they were a bit more common in Europe, but Texas has three of these little things.

This is interesting.

Couldn't imagine wanting to live in one though, I guess renovated it could be a cool idea but too small.

Good pics though!

That ancient Jeep looks super abandoned! Can't believe anyone would leave one of those just sitting around!

And yes that UFO home unit was a cool find!

That's awesome!

The first time I saw one of those (the only one I've ever seen) was on vacation on Hatteras Island, on the coast of North Carolina. It's been parked on a construction contractor's property for decades.

This link takes you a comprehensive website that details the location, history and in most cases, photos of every surviving Futuro House in the world. The one I saw and the one Tiff photographed are both on here.

Silly-buns! Look at the link I provided for five minutes and see the photos of all the Futuros in Texas (I think Tiff said there were three?), then simply discern which one it was. It'll tell ya all you need to know so you have time to get a hotdog and a bag of chips for lunch without obsessing all damn afternoon.

Thanks For your Awesome photos Tiffers, and Thanks RE for the link. All of these reminded me of a Futuristic home in Florida called Xanadu. I visited it many moons ago. Its gone now, but was quite the attraction at one time, and in later yrs, an abandonment near Disney World. Heres the link to see what it looked like.

I love these things! The one Ed saw in NC still has some of its interior furnishings, although it's pretty beat up inside.

And nice shots of this one, tiffers. Now go find the other ones...

There's one in Pensacola Beach that's in use, albeit as part of a larger house.

I believe the one in ATX is set up as a museum. ...original blue prints and furniture and whatnot. I've not personally been, but from what I can tell online...it's whole and in good shape.

SUPER tiny. They're setup like RVs...the only privacy is the bathroom. Not for me, but rad idea, nonetheless.

That's Betty White! It as her first Road Trip across the state...she stranded us in Dallas, but it was a good run. A 4 hour tow never killed anybody... -_-

I'd love to have one in my backyard! lol

There's another close by, within 30 minutes, in someone's backyard. But, talking to the guy who runs a website dedicated to these houses...the owner isn't super friendly with weirdos wanting pictures of it. :/

There are only three 'documented' in Texas, which is strange as they were more popular over seas. They had to be contracted out to be built/flown (haha, clever. But, really...they were moved by helicopters) here, from what I understand. There's this one, one within a few minutes, and then the museum one in ATX.

Thank you, sir! It's a pretty unassuming place, at first to me, but a few tweaks here and there...and I really like how they came out.

Whaaaat? Look at that! ...ha! That's neat. I've only ever seen this one. Hahaha. But, then...Texas is massive and these things are spread out to places I never go. :/

Thanks everyone for the kind and fun words!

That's absolutely not the original interior, bro! It was real estate office and a hotdog stand before the county closed it down for code violations.
