It's been a while since I've been on here- almost six months since I was last active to any significant degree. You all know how it is- sometimes, the path life takes you doesn't always allow for forays into the less traveled places. But here is my first real explore in a long time.

This particular place is a small hotel that is currently being demolished to make way for... a bigger hotel. While I couldn't get in earlier, I was able to gain permission from the scrapping company workers on site to explore. So here we go.

Interesting fact about Number 6- I'm fairly certain that flag is a remnant of the Never Forgotten Honor Flight, which met up here before catching a flight to Washington DC.

So here is my first exploration in a while. Now, while locations are running dry in my current city, I'll be moving to a new, far bigger city in the next six months. So that means a whole new city to explore. I'll try to remain somewhat active until then, and then I can really get back into things.

Thanks for putting up with these opening and closing narratives- and it's good to be back.

Yeah, I know. Hopefully they dismantle it and reuse it in another piece of construction, though to be honest I don't have a clue what they plan to do with it.


There's actually a ladder on the outside of the dome allowing for it to be climbed, but it was inaccessible without going through the area where they were still actively doing asbestos abatement. Needless to say, I decided to skip that part of the building.

Still, I would have liked to get up there if it weren't such a hazard to my health. Here's a better picture of the dome, if you're interested.
