I'm sure they do have protocol or some crap they are supposed to follow, but you must understand some security people should really not be given any sort of power, much less a handgun. I would think that the ones that have jobs like "guard an abandoned building" aren't quite cut out for jobs that actually matter, so you might get some very under-trained and "enthusiastic" people, and it sounds like one of them was given a firearm

If I offended any security people, I don't really care. You chose that job, live with the shame.

Ummm, we have some security guards that have been respected FMs here longer then myself.
Places that have guards aren't abandoned. I've played cat and mouse with them before, like at Beth Steel.

Posted by blackhawk Yeah that's not uncommon I've heard. But I like the window open! I found three small lead spatter marks on the window, so it was up at the time when it happened. Think it was a .380 round fired from a shit auto. Came soooo close to breaking the glass. That was the driver side window. First time a shot has connected with my ride although I've been shoot at before.

Not only have I been shot at while exploring... I've been shot!

I was exploring the (active) head office building of a company whose workers were on strike at the time. The pickets and demonstrations had become increasingly tumultuous, and it was only a few days after a very public act of vandalism that left the cops in the area on high-alert for subsequent offenders. So of course, when I set off a silent alarm in the building (newly installed) and they caught me, they were livid. They piled on the intimidation, growing increasingly upset until one of them - I kid you not - raised his arm up and shot me!

They still have that damn mugshot on file to this day.

I guess I do have a personal beef with security in general, because I have to deal with their incompetence where I work. We often have weekend security and they send the most unmotivated, absolutely amateur people you could possibly come up with. So I'm sorry if I offended any real security people, but your brethren have left a sour taste in my mouth
For reference, Securitas is the company, never ever hire them!

No, he was definitely not supposed to shoot at us. We were on a roof, he was on the ground, and he took a shot in our direction.
