Yikes, no I haven't. I have had a shotgun pointed at me when I walked up to a not as abandoned as I thought house.

I shot myself in the hand when I was a wee one. Does that count?

Had a cop take me down 10 feet away with a 12 gauge, they mistook my tripod for a rifle.
Trespassing can be exciting...

Could you tell us the story? Or was it the cop incident you mentioned above?

Had a shotgun fired in our general direction by a crazy farmer in Belgium, that was as close as I ever want to get.

Last year I visited an abandoned state school campus in the mountains of New York. The first time we visited we were very obvious, and we didn't want to approach the same way this time. Myself, my girlfriend, and another friend found a trail though the woods that eventually stopped at a cornfield. Fantastic, we thought. This shouldn't be so bad. Onward we pressed through the dense forest, following a fairly well defined deer trail. Before long we got to the field, where we pulled out our phones and discovered we needed to just cut around the field for about a quarter mile until we hit a branch that lead to the buildings. As we began walking, our friend begins explaining that this was a bait field. Its sole purpose was to draw deer into the area, which isn't entirely uncommon. But, being from suburbia, this was the first time I had actually seen one. We continued to walk, and every dozen or so steps, I would here this bizarre booming noise. At first I ignored it, but as we got closer and closer a piece of information entered my mind. My aunt had casually mentioned to me two weeks prior that if we wanted to go camping on her property, we needed to bring bright colored clothing. Hunting season was to start the following weekend.

At the next pop, I stopped dead in my tracks.

"Hey guys.... Does that.... Does that sound like a shotgun to you?"

They both immediately dismissed the thought, and my friend mentioned that it could have just been the wind making weird noises due to the odd landscape surrounding the campus. It seemed like a rational explanation, so for a moment I calmed down. Then, another pop. Then another. By this point, it was unmistakable what the banging was; it was the signature percussive sound of a shotgun being discharged. Both of my companions were now also hearing exactly what I was hearing.

"Guys, that's absolutely gunfire. Hunting season started this week. And we are skirting a bait field in dark clothing."

I have to say, in the decade or so that I've been exploring, in dangerous buildings and neighborhoods all over my area, I had never felt more scared than I did in that moment. Quickly, we hurried on towards the leg of the trail that went to the campus. I was certainly shaken, as that had been the closest I've ever been to getting shot at. As a result, we walked right down the main driveway on the way out.

Definitely not something I want to experience again.

I had some some psycho hick fire his handgun in the air by a group of us when we were swimming in a river that was too close to his property I guess.

"What? I'm just shooting some squirrels", he said.

We all started laughing at him.

we get shot at regularly here at CN rail, the tribe across the river takes pot shots at the trains going by, never at the people or when its stopped, ive heard some pings on the sides of units but never personally seen the impact marks after (units are 1ich thick steel and the windows are shatterproof and bullet resistant)

Yeah that's not uncommon I've heard. But I like the window open!

I found three small lead spatter marks on the window, so it was up at the time when it happened. Think it was a .380 round fired from a shit auto. Came soooo close to breaking the glass. That was the driver side window. First time a shot has connected with my ride although I've been shoot at before.

I have been shot at... .30-.30 rifle fired at me and friends from a drunk acquaintance coming from a party. He had just had the stuffing beat out of him and was on his way back to party with said rifle to 'settle things'. We kept driving by being assclowns and he opened fire on us. One round came close enough where I heard it pass my head (I was in the box of a 1990 Ford Ranger pickup).

The police arrived and intervened. No one was killed.

yeah by a guy up on a hill on the East Branch of the Delaware in NY while I was fishing. Apparently I was trespassing and you just shoot guns at people who have no clue they are trespassing in that part of the state I guess.

It was a moment of "man fires gun in direction of fisherman" and "man yells at hill". Tough guys you can't see with guns behind trees a hundred yards away. So I fuckt off. What else to do? Got back to the truck and had a beer and sandwich then started again somewhere else on another part of the river.

Who knew fishin's a high risk sport

Twelve years ago I was shot at, along with a group of other explorers, on Christmas at Danvers State Hospital by a security guard. That was an insane night.

I doubt that he thought it was a rifle with me standing chest deep in the Delaware River waving a 9 foot long fishing rod around like a hundred other people do every week all along that river. I think it was a guy who was pissed people were fishing in the river that flowed through his land and happened to be one cranky gun totin' hombre

I'd have gone to the time and trouble to hook his sorry ass up proper with the State police. Especially if where you parked wasn't properly posted or his property. Rivers are public domain; free passage.
I have -zero- tolerance for people brandishing or shooting guns illegally... it's clobbering time.

Woah, security guards shoot on sight? I thought they had like protocol or some crap they had to follow first before discharging their weapon
