Location inside Lafayette, IN

I had my first expedition into an abandoned train car repair facility inside Lafayette, Indiana, and I have to say it was a triumph for myself. Being alone in a factory is one thing, but sneaking in right next to a constructions sight across the tracks was heart-pounding intense. Loved every second, and if you live in the Lafayette area and want to know the history, just ask. I'd love to help.
((I'm trying my hardest to upload a picture, but I literally walked around with my tablet taking pictures, and it's not wanting to cooperate))

I'm new to this site and have been looking for some locations to explore. I'd love to know more details about it.

I don't know by what means you're trying to upload the pictures, but its generally easiest to upload to an outside site like flickr instead of directly to UER. Theres tutorials on it somewhere on this site and they should be easy to find.

imgur works well for me, and their iOS app is easy to use.

I might try Imgur and make a new post for the photos. It was a really cool place to see, and glad it was my first time.

Picturing you...walking around with a tablet taking UrbEx pictures is probably one of the funniest sights. Good on you though for getting out there and exploring. Once you start though, you can't stop and it just becomes more and more frequent. Like an addiction. Welcome!

I had my tablet for the journey (I walked 20 miles total yesterday) and almost didn't take pictures. But I figured my posting wait period ended the same day, and needed some cool-ish pictures to remember it by. Already planning my second expedition to a new place ext week.

Alone again? I would recommend going with some friends or even some people on here that would be willing to meet up. Exploring with a small group is IMO much more fun than exploring alone.

Probably safer too

Talking to a fellow member about possibly doing a meet up, but the location mentioned is literally in spitting distance of a police post, so I'm thinking less would be a lot easier to infil and exfil unnoticed. As for safety, I'm admittedly a pack-rat for supplies, I actually had enough supplies to stay the night at the factory if I wanted too

exfil

Good choice of words. We should all learn police code too. That'd be cool 10-4

There was only one way up and that was through a catwalk which looked sketchy as fuuuuuck. I would have looked around for a ladder or something, but like mentioned, there was a construction sight just across the way

I'm kind of disappointed, the inside didn't look as cool as I thought it would have based on the outside. Those windows are neat though.

I agree. I can't say I wasn't a tad let down. But standing in the middle, imagining all the workers scrambling around the massive trains and other machinery really put the building into perspective.
