A former hospital/nursing home built in the 1950s in the middle of a forest in Belgium which closed down after the new facility was built right next door. Back in 2012 when I visited this place and when these photos date from it was getting pretty bashed around by local morons as it was simply put one of the easiest explores I have ever done, no security measures on it at all and it was basically a free-for-all. As you can imagine things went dramatically downhill very quickly, almost exponentially with more fires, more trashing, more graffiti until the building was reduced to nothing more than a ruined shell before finally being demolished at the end of last year.

The theatre with the rows of wooden seats suffered some of the worst damage, not long after I visited someone came and stole pretty much all the seats and then soon after that the wood-panelled room was set on fire burning the entire theatre out.

There was some very nice graffiti in the place though.

When I visited with my mate in 2012 we were on a real hobo trip over sleeping in our car instead of hotels, the evening we arrived here we scoped the place out and sat on the roof terrace cooking dinner on a camp stove but cleared off before sun down as we were sure we heard other people in there with us. At dawn after sleeping in the car in the car park serving one of the forest trails nearby we spent a couple of hours wandering around exploring the building.

fantastic set and neat location. Maybe I'm just crazy but why does it always seem like nursing homes are ALWAYS flooded much more than anything else?

In this case the flooded corridors came from the water the fire services used to put out the fire caused by the burning piano, which spread up an area on the outside of three floors, there was a good couple of centimetres of standing water in most of the corridors which made for some crazy reflections.

What a cool place! Even the graffiti is cool.

Like the charbroiled piano and the green tile columns. Had to laugh at myself at the room with the old man sitting there looking somewhat disgusted...I thought that said Claps at first...lol, would of explained his face of indifference to an STD. Now, it makes no sense at all. I really need better reading glasses. I too enjoyed the rooms covered with water...made nice pics.

Belgium is so relaxed when it comes to exploring, they simply don't care for the most part. You can practically walk into disused power stations and blast furnaces, all they like to do is put razor wire over everything and leave it at that.
