So I've come across a product that some of y'all may think is overkill, however depending on the price, I think it could be quite useful. This is a real time asbestos detector kinda relatable to a Geiger counter but for asbestos. However it actually uses lasers and the reflection of the light off certain particles to determine which ones are asbestos. I think this is pretty cool and really useful and could help a lot with determining the safety measures that need to be taken for a location. But it is not yet in the production stage, and it seems the whole development of this product has been put on hold, but I'm not sure. And when it finally gets produced it might not be very affordable to your average middle class human. What do you all think of this device and does anyone know any information on this product and it's current development status? Thanks guys. I've included a link to the products website.

There will be a lot of product liability associated with this product if it comes to market and it's price will reflect that. Estimated price tag, $800 and up. It's targeted for remediation and construction companies.

Hmm, although at this point in time it most likely would be overkill to carry that around for explorers, it's pretty cool technology.

I'd love to have one just to see how much of that stuff is actually flying around when left undisturbed because there are so many varying reports out there.

Use a laser pointer or bright led light to get an idea what's in the air. If asbestos is laying around unsealed some of those particles are probably asbestos... don't stir up dust, don't go on dry windy days.
If you have had exposure, don't smoke. Meh, fuck that I like my cigars

A P100 is much cheaper, unless you're willing to spend $800 to not look like a respirator hipster
