You may remember one of my last year's post... well, I'm pretty sure that nobody will remember it but it was about remains of defensive equipment that russians - or should I say: their prisoners of war mostly - did build at 1915-1917 in fear of german's landing to Finland (which never did happen, at least not in that period and not in that scale so these structures weren't never in use. Well, I'm not too big friend of military things even I did spent 8 months in army back at '90s. But those structures from far in time are somehow quite enchanting.

They make me think about how that small place in the middle of nowhere were once so geopolitical that it was worth to built there that kind of things. They also make me think about how it all did feel from those who were taken far from their home to here - I'm pretty sure that most of them would rather spent their time in somewhere else. So I did do some research, because I did already know that there is more. And then I did find this from digital archive:

And that was it, I did have to go check if I could find something. And I did. There were stone hill, I did know that it is one place were should be something is anything still is left. I did walk over the fields of nearby mansion to the forest and start climb that hill. I did get bit over half, when I did spot trench that were mined to that rock.

And what kind of place it was! Hundreds of meters trench going from here to there and else where on that hill. Best part of it were that it was mostly many meters deep, so you weren't able to see where you were going, it did feel quite adventure. But as you can imagine, trench is so god damned hard to photograph, so I didn't get too many photos. But you can be sure that I will return...

Stone Ascending:

Stone Cold Ways:

Wonders of War (that didn't come):

Those were the "best" shots. From there I did head to two abandoned houses not too far from there...

From the Forest:

Silent Dream About Oblivion:

Like Ghosts Were the Curtains:

Floating in the Silence:

Fading Flowers, Fragile Glass:

Cold Kitchen:

Cold Morning Light:

And then into house next to...

Years Tear:

Modern Art from the Past:

Left Alone:

Old Style:

That Morning, That Beautiful, Lonely Moment:

After that trip my plan were: stay at home, clean home. Sun did rise, world was filled with light and with all that shit in my head I did change my plan, get to car and drive myself to brick factory. This year's first time by the way...

Thursday Morning, Before 9AM:

Black Sculpture:

Back to Old Days:

Dead Leafs:

Waking to Spring:

Childhood End's Here:

Hard Hit:

Water Filled Morning Moment:

Light in the Darkness:

Sweet, Sweet Emptiness:

Keys:

Western Ways:

Broken Brick:

Let's Fall:

From Snow to Water, From Roof to Floor:

When Gravity Fails Part 3:

And traditional off-topic-bonus-picture of this massive post shows us dance of apple trees:

Modern Art...Some Freakish bird with long legs and big feet. hahaha! Back to the Old Days is an Awesome B&W shot. Hard Hit makes me wonder about the poor person in that accident. Love the depth of Broken Brick and the perspective of Lets fall. Another ~Outstanding~ set of photos from Wolfheart! Thanks So Much!

Thank you very much! And what comes that vertigo feel... I must try if I would be able to make on selfie kind of idea to photo next summer... in that same corridor. It could be probably describe as "hanging around" or something like that.

Wow wow wow! Excellent sets as always. Your photos always have that middle or nowhere deep in the woods feel that I love.

It's difficult as always to choose a favorite here. Let's Fall may be the winner here, but all the ones from the brick factory are spectacular!!

Aside from the Gravity photo, the timelessness of the rest is incredible. Those could've been taken at any time over the last hundred years. Magnificent work!

Aivan erinomainen!

Thanks, and it kind of "it just is" thing when you live in small town in Finland. But I love it too, so I'm happy.

Thank you very much! I really love old photos, Shorpy is one of my long time favorite sites (http://www.shorpy.com/) so I'm always happy if I can find views that could be "from past". Utopian time travelling I suppose.
