I learned this week about bump keys , found some old ones , carved one , tried it on my door, and its working like a charm ! You just have to get the ''twist'', enter the whole key, then get it out just one teeth back, hold it with a little of turning tension , hit it with the back of a screwdriver ...and POP!
It feel fucking great
Here's some pictures of the working key.

Lol nice weiser key, good luck finding more than a handful of locks that key will fit into. You have to make the common ones such as SC1, SC4 (can actually use for both sc4 and sc1), AR1, KW1, etc. 99% of house locks are going to be SC1 or KW1 any way.

That kind of lock is used a lot for houses. Although normally I see the WR2 and WR3 a lot more.

Must be more common in Canada then. I work at a locksmith shop in New England and cut more kwikset a day than I cut WR5, 3, and 2 combined in a year, could just be this area. All the old houses around here have Yale or Arrow.

There is a thread around here I think that has to do with bump keys. I've tried a few myself. Let me go look for the thread.. unless it's archived.

It's under the other boards..

Thanks to urbex forums I sprung for Abloy Protec locks when I bought my house.

I remember seeing a movie with Russel Crowe in it that did a similar thing, only he attached a tennis ball to the back to make it easier to bash it in and not destroy his pal in the process.

If you want something that will keep pushing it back out each time you hit it, so you don't have to keep backing it off 1 pin each time, try this:
https://www.youtub...atch?v=rDju9bBFvA4
At 3:30 he explains why you should do your keys this way and demonstrates it... something I would never have thought of.

I would like to try some of these things but I fear someone mistaking my interest for attempted burglary

"See you guys, you never listen to me. I said there was gonna be trouble but you didn't listen to me. You guys are crazy. You know, you guys are self destructive. There's a funny farm and it has your names written all over it. But I'm gettin' out of here. I'm... I smell ice cream!"

Until you realize that is a $150+ tool that no burglar will ever buy, just like urbex, there is always another way in.

Rocks are cheaper.

I bought this one from "bumpmylock.com" but I can't get it to work. Any ideas? Their customer service is terrible.
