I'm in IT but work with a lot of doctors. You are mainly at risk of a dry socket, I'm told, if you smoke...

the tooth extraction went well and the holes have almost all healed. Dry socket was a big fear as I had a couple of extractions before this. Never had it, luckily.

Hell, Sam I had a cigar in my mouth within half hour of my one and only extraction(excluding wisdom teeth). I was pissed.
Just ice the hell out of them, now though I would use DMSO on the gum/socket. Works better.

That's good to hear
You'll be healthier with that rot gone.
It can go from a pain to a life threatening medical emergency in a day. Been there.

Probably the last update for this thread... Two weeks ago, I received my award letter from the Social Security Administration confirming that I was now fully disabled. I didn't want to do it, but my doctor was adamant that I could not return to work... ever. On top of that, I qualified for my pension from work that will add to the monthly benefit. Officially, I retired from my job which helps. So, it's all over. Now I just sit around and wait...

I want to thank everyone that helped me get this far with contributions, words of encouragement and good feelings all the way around. The Urban Exploration community here has been the most generous people I have ever had the luck to know. I cannot thank you all enough for the help.

So... that's that.

But will Cyborg Sam be able to taste pasta?

I purpose we inject experimental nanobots into him and expose him to a massive dose of gamma rays.
Just don't make him angry...

So... that's that.

I can't decide if this is good news, man... The retirement and getting that end managed sounds like a great thing, of course, as such things go.

But, like... how are things REALLY going with you?

honestly, without any drama, I am getting worse every day... that's how it was going to go. It's just the way it is. My doctor prepared me for how things were going to progress. Sometimes, my heart just thumps and I can't breathe. Other times it takes off and I can't breathe. Sometimes, I get dizzy and fall over. And I am tired all the time. That's the worst part of it... being fucking tired all the time.

but I am still here.
probably not the heart and flowers answer folks were looking for. My friend and I were laughing about this... and here's what I mean. When someone has cancer, for instance, there is a marked decline. People 'look' the part of dying, wasting away... when you have this shit, I'm still the plump asshole I have always been and will die the plump asshole I always was. That's why a couple of people I know were really blown away by my news. They thought it was bullshit. I literally had to show them paperwork... I know it sounds sick, but it was kind of funny.

Anyways... i'm still here.

You have a dog or cat, Sam?
Even a pet rat would be helpful.

If you brought your body fat down to 16%, imagine the reduced work load for your heart. Do it.

Have you had your free testosterone level checked?
If below 400 consider using testosterone therapy replacement and bump it up. It's vital for all muscles including the heart. Only conflict is it can increase water retention. Human growth hormone is on the table too. Both will improve heart function, accelerate fat burning while promoting muscle mass.
http://www.medpage...rdiology/chf/40845

For starters try using 50 mg of DHEA in the morning, see if this helps. Use gel caps. When ill DHEA levels plummet and it's the mother of all hormones, a potent antioxidant, and has a profound influence on brain function and well being.

Fuck the doctors, -nothing- medical is written in stone. Bring these factors back into their optimum ranges and go from there. Get a pet to pass the time with as you do... they are good none judgmental friends that accept you as you are.

Samurai I don't often speak of these things here (ok-never) but have you considered trying to self heal with meditation? There are a variety on Youtube if you just search for guided meditations-healing.
There is also Reiki etc. I know people laugh at these things but they, at the very least, cannot hurt. The power of the mind is vast-if we can only harness it. If you wish any guidance at all or help do not hesitate to message me.

I wish you well and send you good energy!

I appreciate the thought, but there is no fix for what is wrong with me. As mentioned earlier, my doctors discussed a heart transplant, but due to my age, and other health considerations, and the fact it might give me five more years at best, it was not a great option. They also mentioned and intra-ventricular device, which again wasn't a swell option. Nope, we're going to ride this strange torpedo into the ground.

And yes, I have a dog.

Sad news man... But I'm glad to hear you've made peace with the destination, that'll make it easier to enjoy the last few laps I'm sure.

I don't know you beyond these forums but I usually have a good laugh, or learn something, or both, whenever I read your posts. I hope you get to stick around to share your wit and knowledge with the world for a while yet! It'll be a more solemn (and less car crazed) place without you, that's for sure.

I just figured an update would be fun... the holidays were nice, oddly enough. Still here. My employer rocket-sledded the processing for my retirement so no I am officially retired from International Paper Company. Yay. Seniority from eleven years of service... gone. Three weeks of paid vacation... gone. Eight personal days... gone. As much as the place drove me nuts, it was something to do every day. So now that is all done, now I have to apply for Medicaid and hope the processing for that doesn't take too long as I only have so much medication left. And some of the shit I take is a wee pricey. So that is all done. Still feel like I am sliding downhill... just doing little things wipes me the fuck out. I am loosing weight, but I fear it's the wrong kind of weight. Under 300lbs for the first time in 3 years. It doesn't really much at this stage, but it will be nice to not need a forklift to carry my ass from the car to the hole in the ground.

So... yeah... retired at 43. Isn't that just fucking grand.
