Saw this on reddit and people are pissed off about it.
The photographer was outed there and I'm sure is in hiding at this point.
This wreck was apparently significant to the local area.

Steel wool is a cool party trick but I don't understand the artistic value at all.
Its been beaten to death at this point. Lets not burn anything else down.

That almost happened here, when some foreigners brought steel wool inside an old abandoned mental hospital. At least they thought it was steel wool; they couldn't get it lit.

It looks like it may not have actually been caused by the photographer who took the photo though. In the original article, it talks about how the photographer called into the police department to clear their name(s).

now it may have been caused by another photographer, or even people just messing around, but not apparently from the photographer in question....(photo was taken Saturday evening, the fire was started sunday night and reported Monday morning with other photos from photographers taken on sunday showing no damage to the boat.)

That's near where I live and I'm bummed because I recently got into urban exploring and I never got to go there.

I will admit that I am partly guilty of that ONLY because Goat, Rust Junky, and I didn't have anything else to explore before calling it a day. Although, I chose to wait outside because drains suck and they're not my cup of coke to explore.

IMO The wool spinning really didnt add to the photo at all. The wreck stood on its own as a work of art.

Damn shame.
