Not too long ago a good friend of mine and I were driving around for a day searching for some abandoned locations in our area. When on the highway we spotted a train bridge crossing over a ravine which houses a large hydropower plant. We took a detour off of the highway and navigated our way to the train bridge. After almost a half hour we were walking along that same train bridge when we looked down the ravine and spotted the abandoned building pictured below. Sometimes, the coolest places are discovered when you least expect it.

Nice find and pics. Abandoned sites are often found near RR lines and/or rivers.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

Such a great find. Was entry not an option?

Entry proved to be rather difficult. The land is owned by a power company and in the pictures the power plant is visible. The power company has fenced off all visible entry points from the top of the cliff so the only way that we can currently see to enter the site would be to get to the bottom of the ravine and enter from the water. We will have to wait till the weather gets warmer before making that attempt as the water temp is dangerously low in this current season.

Awesome location and enticing pics! Would be really cool to walk that catwalk across that water wouldn't it!? Im just imagining what delicious shots you could get from there.

Power's on in the buildings at the top of the ravine. That means it's probably not abandoned. It also means there's probably a road leading into the site...

The abandoned part of the site are the two buildings at the bottom of the ravine. Where the lights are on is part of the power plant. I scouted out the entire perimeter of the power plant right above the abandoned section but had no luck finding an entrance there.
