Central Data Repository

Hello everyone,

Although my postcount in the forums has been down as of late I actually have been spending lots of time on UER. Andrew Dalton, myself and quite a few others have been very hard at work creating a new organized database for our respective universities.

Seeing the need for a database with a fundamentally difference scope VAD created the Central Data Repository as a far more rigorous and organized way to sort information on institutions. Fully supported and hosted one uer by Av-X, it includes info on tunnel and roof access, police reports, and historical maps. Below are some (intentionally) blurry screenshots of the project so far:

If you want to see your institution on here, or just want to take a gander feel free to PM me or Andrew.

You said your screenshots were blurry, but they're not. I can read them word for word. ;)

Edit: I'm not sure if that's what you wanted or not. But, figured I'd let you know...should you want to fix it.

They're how I wanted them, reading the police reports in the last one can be pretty funny sometimes.

Thanks for pointing it out though.

Hey wow that's pretty legit!

The police report activity can prove to be a very useful feature. Is this something we will all be able to access here on UER? Or are these going to be hosted by sister-sites?

All the police reports on the database are culled from online public sources. That being said some places produce reports that are a LOT more useful than others.

But it's pretty nice to be able to check what the police thought of your exploring afterwards.

Lol, is this like a ratings system?
If you do it right, they will never know you were there... like god.

It's hosted on UER servers but is completely separate from the rest of the site (i.e. different login credentials, trust system, etc). Right now we have:

  • University of Toronto, St. George Campus
  • University of Toronto, Mississauga Campus
  • University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus
  • Queens University
  • University of Waterloo (just a bare shell at the moment)

Catdog23 does content dev and moderates access to Queens, and I do the rest. The idea is to have a central place for students of these places to get info - because of the amount of damage a malicious party could do is substantial, we generally restrict access to those who are a) students or alumni and b) full members or equivalent level of trust. If you are any of the above, let one of us know - if you're not but still want access, PM one of us and we'll work something out.

If you attend another school, and have information to add that you think would be well suited to this format, let us know and we'll make you one - as a quid-pro-quo bonus we'll also give you access to other campuses in your area.

That's pretty damn cool. I'd have loved such a thing back when I was in school. Nice work!
