Silos are real safe, they're the "my first explore" to midwestern urbexing. The holes in the floor are incredibly easy to spot. Also there's always a lot of people there so you can watch them and see where they step and then do the same if you're scared.

If you follow another's footsteps make sure you aren't heavier than them.
More than one person has taken a hell ride from collapsing plywood covering a hole... numbers don't protect you from yourself.

*especially old, abandoned silos. Many have corroded rebar and fasteners anchoring ladders, catwalks, etc that can fail just like -snap-

I agree. It was my second explore, Feb 2015. I went alone on weekday morning at 8 am. No trouble walking around and getting inside. Only issue was a lot of mud in the grass.
