Before I tell my story, I'd like to introduce myself real quick. I'm SebUrbex coming to you live from the North Florida area with plenty of excitement to be a member of this community! I've been exploring anything from buildings to the woods (favorite activity being hiking/camping/backpacking) but have recently decided to get more into urban exploring since it's an environment that perpetually surrounds the majority of mankind. After all, they don't call it the concrete jungle for nothing ;P But enough with that...
The other day 2 friends and I heard of this eerie ghost town in the middle of the woods called 'Elleville'. It was an old sawmill town on the banks of the Suwannee river from the 1800's that we though was just left there in a hurry to eventually be reclaimed by mother nature. Naturally, we decided to pinpoint the location on Google Maps and go for it. 1.5 hours later and we pull up to the end of the road, with an abandoned bridge just ahead crossing the Suwannee river. "THIS IS IT", we all thought as we expected to stumble upon a ghost town straight out of a Clint Eastwood movie- but more Florida-y.
"There's the bridge the town must be over there!"

We quickly realized though that it wasn't what we expected what so ever... Instead of a ghost town with still-intact buildings and an abundance of places to explore, all we got was several ruins and a beautiful view of the Suwannee river. Though it was disappointing, we had fun hiking through trails and crossing the river on shaky still-used railroad tracks *DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME*. Here are a few more photos from the trip.
