Was out of state checking up on a car I was interested in and was only 20 mins from here. Sun was all ready setting so I didnt really get to set any shot up aside from this first hallway shots. Rest are all snaps showing how bad the ward is.This building is one of the more dangerous places I have been. Security showed up and cut what was short trip shorter as I left in a hurry.

Everything past the first shot is my flickr photo dump.

Cool set man, you definitely went to the right part of the property if you only had a little bit of time. The outbuildings are depressingly trashed these days.

Very nice pictures! Any idea on what the place was before it was abandoned?

Nice pictures! I was there not too long ago and got some shots of the big hospital-type building and the rec center.

Nice shots! Such a gorgeous building. It's a shame that so many Kirkbrides fall into such disarray. Hopefully some of it can be preserved. We don't need another Greystone to happen.

I saw Admin was sealed. Any of the outbuildings sealed?

What does "being worked on" mean? Hudson is my love, I'm going to be pretty distraught if they tear admin down (property manager talked about preserving admin in the past tense last time I was there =*( )

According to the this picture from a Poughkeepsie Journal article:

It seems as if the admin and the first portions of the wings will be saved. Similar to what happened with Danvers, but hopefully more than the shell will remain this time. Granted, the article was posted last July, so plans have probably changed. You have to remember, Hudson's Kirkbride is in bad shape. It'll be a miracle if any of it can be preserved at all.

They could do something à la Worcester and preserve the center tower, but that'd probably only happen as a last resort.

Admin is in OK shape and could easily be saved. Give me $1000 and a lift and I could seal the roof up in an afternoon. but alas, that has not been done =(

Thanks for the info, I'm very eager to see what becomes of my favorite hospital.
