No idea what this place used to be or when it was constructed. There were some workers next door that I spoke with and one of them (who was in his 40's) said that its been abandoned as long as he could remember. As a kid they would all walk on the other side of the street because they thought it was haunted...

Not much to the old place but I LOVED the ceiling and the old door. Not the most exciting explore I've ever done but I had nothing to do so what the hell.

Yeah, ditto on the pressed tin ceiling. Love that kind of shit. And not that I'm an expert or anything, but that's a pattern that I haven't seen before.

Thanks. There are a tone of good places like this out here in West Texas. I actually almost passed on this but like you, that ceiling caught my eye and drew me in.

That wall looks lakes waves. I'm digging the post too. Did you peek upstairs?

I was going for the sewing machine, and got this shot instead.

Love this place, another one where I'd move in in a heartbeat, even if I'd have to fix it up myself. Added to my bucket list of places I want to explore when I get a chance.

Love the ceiling, entry, door handle...it's got so many things (architecturally) going for it.

based on those factors, I'm going with a 1920's construction and that it was probably a clothing store or drug store (with the counter having been removed). Though I'm not an expert on this sort of stuff, by any means.

West Texas, though far, is full of ghost towns and abandoned buildings. I'm in Northeast Texas and wish i had the time to explore that area.

Oh, and "Hi. I'm new here."
Lurked a while and finally joined up to talk to you fine people. I'll be adding pics myself as I go on some more explores. I'm just starting to combine my love of exploring with photography. We'll see how it goes.

I did but it wasnt really that interesting. The floor was INCREDIBLY sketchy so I just took some shots from the doorway. Wasnt very interesting so I didnt include any but this is what it looked like.

If you ever head out to West Texas drop me a PM and I'll recommend some places for you to see!

Well welcome to the community. I'm a long time explorer but new to the whole photography thing. Exploring out West is actually pretty easy with lots of wide open locations and tons of ghost towns. Looking forward to seeing your pics!
