conversation continued like that for the 2-3 minutes it took us to hop back over the fence and make our getaway.


"Grrrr! Rrrrruff!" - Annoying neighbourhood dog barking at us

Cop who's caught me in past: "Oh not HIM again!"

Cop upon finding rope and climbing equipment in bag: "are these your school supplies?"

Guy in pickup truck who rolled up on us less than two minutes after we entered a empty and partially demoed factory building:

Got lazy and parked in a rather secluded spot, and had a security officer waiting when I came out...
Him: "So, I see you've parked within eight feet of a 'No Trespassing' sign; you know what that tells me?"
Me: "That my plausible deniability just went out the window?"

Police officer: Sounds like an interesting hobby (urbex); I'd think one would have to be either really brave or really stupid."
Me: It's an 80/20 mix of both...days like this, maybe 60/40!

One of my favourites was (in regards to doing a drain for the first time); "You never know what's around the next bend"

"You see a storm drain outlet, I see a question mark"

We used to prank call radio stations and one day an old guy rang up & was laughing so much and said "Oh gosh oh golly (can't understand due to laughing) go down BIG DRAINS!" (more laughing)

That lead to our war-cry GO DOWN DRAINS! and also the email sign off, "Go in (or down) drains" and Predator's sign off, "Go in big drains!"

The first time I was caught by police, they waited patiently as I belly-crawled under the perimeter fence to get to the outside where they were standing. I stood up, covered in mud, and waited while they looked me over.

“Care to explain why you’re trespassing on this property?”

“I don’t see any ‘no trespassing’ signs.”

He pointed to the fenced section I had just low-crawled under.

“The GATE is your sign,”

I was eventually let off with a warning (and a lecture).

"I've got an idea."

"I'm bored so I'ma go do some stupid shit. Wanna join?" - Me to my friend before we almost got busted.

"Who's there?" - The unknown security guard who almost got us.

Cop, after we were caught at a psychiatric hospital, pointing at my friend's badge that says "LUNATIC".

"Did you find him here? Because that's theft if you did."
