Now, I have done two trips that focused on exploring. Because I work 60 hours a week and go to school full time, I can only do a 2-3 day trips maybe every two months or so. I do want to plan maybe a one week trips to the major cities, I usually do alot of rooftopping. Currently, I have another trip planned for Toronto in late February.

Back in 2013 I did a week long trip around Belgium with a mate which was non-stop explores.

The last two times I have been to the states has primarily been exploring based, hitting as many places as I can manage over the course of a few weeks.

Last spring I took a trip that involved travelling 2,000 miles of back roads from Louisville to New Orleans and back. I took a different route returning. While it was not 100% exploration based, I still got to see a lot of cool places and towns. We were just driving hoping to stumble upon something cool. If I were to do it again I would do more research before hand, i'm sure I was near some pretty sweet stuff along the way and didn't even realize it.

Budget trips, sleep in the car or low class motels!

Every year I take about six or seven big roadtrips.

2015 I visited about 26 states and drove about 40,000 in roadtrips alone. It was banging. Some of the trips were purely for exploring. I wasn't even able to hit everything I wanted to, even with filling my days as much as I could. Some of the roadtrips were for exploring national parks, which is another hobby of mine. I visited 20 national parks last year. I'm frugal as hell when traveling. My biggest expense is always gas. I never pay a cent for motels, hotels, or campsites. I find free campsites or sleep in my car. For food I bring a campstove with me so I can cook pasta, which is filling, has a lot of calories, and is cheap. The only thing I splurge on is great local beer.

I think everyone should take a major cross country trip. If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask. I visited both coasts, the Gulf, and even Canada this year.

I'm actually pretty discrete and quick about it. I took one at an active museum/historic site in Idaho while on a roadtrip with Rinzler.

PRETTY DISCRETE!?

I have seen you running full speed ahead through piping at water treatment plant, across roof tops in a neighborhood, and down through a cistern...all your bits dangling...! ...discrete my rear end. -_- Hahahaha. Geezus.

HUSH! Those places didn't require much discretion. You make it sound like I explore naked.
