Cool Places You Didn't Get A Chance To Photograph

Being as unlucky as I am, there as been more than one occasion where me and my friends will find something cool, be it abandonment or other interesting thing, and I won't have a camera. Normal!y my iPhone is a good substitute, but every time we come across something like that, it turns out to be dead. Am I the only one who's this unlucky/ really needs to get a portable battery charger?

I sometimes find places when driving around. I tag them on Google Maps with my phone and label them so I can go back later.

Most of the places I explored I never took pictures of.
What's worse is if you never explored them at all. Some aren't worth the trouble to shoot anyway. Even though you don't waste film with digital cams, you do waste time...

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

I think the worst is when you plan it out and then it gets demolished

I rather dislike it when I come across information about a potential location, only to find out that it was abandoned for a very brief period of time before it was demolished. The other day I saw an old postcard with the name of an even older hospital on it that was not to far away. I found out the hospital did close, but was demolished less than a year later.

Yep.

Just this week, I drove by two locations I had just visited only a month or two prior. They were completely leveled. This was one of those moments where I was able to at least take comfort in knowing I had explored and photographed both of them in the nick of time. I'm usually not so serendipitous with my timing though, and this was a happy exception.

Not entirely related, but i hit an abandoned church in downtown St Paul and only had a terrible headlamp, so all my lighting was awful in my photos. I went to return just a day or 2 later and found the place entirely leveled. really wish I would have gotten better photos. but demolition is the name of the game when it comes to derelict and otherwise beautiful locations.

Perhaps that will be the next UER branded swag. The swag star will read "This member has purchased some swag, probably a UER portable phone charger."

I missed out on what was widely regarded as the best abandoned asylum to ever come out of the UK, Cane Hill, by a year and a half.

I will forever kick myself that I missed that place.
