~ Freezing Cold ~

Bit cold start of this year here. Bit too cold for me who's hands are aching cold no matter if I'm inside or outside or is it summer or winter. But that would be bad excuse so... I've been photographing this mill from my hometown. At some way this is quite different for my usual stuff; I feel that I'm really bad with outside photos, but this post doesn't have inside photos at all! This might be bit boring but... at least it hopefully transfers even slight slice of this coldness.

BORING!!! Man, are Kidding!?! These are truly excellent. The cold, the motion, the sunlight...all Gorgeous Photos!

I Love them all. But, Frost on the Wall and Touched by Sunlight need to be on a magazine cover. What a lovely area Wolfheart

oh wow! the first and the fourth are for sure the best photos i've ever seen. I would increase the shutter speed on the water a bit more than what you have for the "white eagle water" it's so in focus and I love it but I'd love it more if the water around it didn't look so much like a painting. KILLER SHOTS THOUGH!

Oh man, absolutely beautiful again! Wish we had snow like that here, we haven't had any snow yet so I don't think we will have any this winter. Can I blame global warming for this?

Spectacular captures of winter's icy grip!
I'll bet your nipples were hard enough to cut glass and your ball sack was tighter than a walnut in the shell!

Any Arctic Char or Northern Pike in those waters? Fire up the smoker!

Thanks for your kind words, feels good to hear that, especially in first comment! I'm really happy is so, because I really mean what I did wrote, that outside photos are usually for me... hardest part and those photos easily look realy dull.

Double thanks.

Thanks for bringing light to this bit gloomy day, you know, Lemmy's funeral etc... Thank you so much, your words really warm my mind. And I totally agree what comes to that White water eagle. Most worst thing with that is that I actually did take another picture with smaller aperture so exposure were longer... BUT my #!"¤!!# tripod did start to fall (as it almost always does) and composition did change slightly; it didn't work at all. I really probably have to return and try to spot this again some day.

And we have snow so little in finnish measures that this almost is snowless winter so far! But there are good things in that too - you can get places where you wouldn't get with more snow... And what comes to global warming, I have think lot of that but... I don't know. I read lot of history, and again and again and again I hit stories where "January were really warm and there weren't snow at all" and stuff like that. It might be but... of course I remember those childhood winters when there really were lot of snow, but I also was lot smaller... Hard to say. It obvious that human affects to climate but... oh my god, second pint at it's end and this is so philosophical already. Shoot me, please! xD

No need to. You can do so much better just hitting your head to wall again and again and again. Really.

Thank you, I'm quite speechless right now. I really did think that these probably are bit dull. Nice to see that I maybe was bit wrong.

Bloody hell man! This takes some time... but here we go. xD

First of all: your medical diagnose fits well. Also my hands were without any sense, still they did ache like they would have filled with glass shatters.

Yes, there are pikes in that river, as far as I know there are even (planted) salmons. But I probably wouldn't eat those. When I was child, at early 80's local factories did let lot of their pollution to there. It's much better now, but I still am bit reserved...

To camera photo I must hit back with own cellphone photo:

And then to next one. That Finlandia Sahti is really nice pick: that brewery (really, really small one) were only 15 km from my home! Good, traditional finnish beer... but as far as I know, they did quit few years ago.

And last one... few hours and then I must take myself to Lemmy's funeral, on internet of course but still. By the way, now we are getting really commercial but... this is one, if not only really good commercial ever, made by finnish company called Valio at last November (when Motörhead was playing here (and I did miss it)), milk is main subject here. This really is... I mean especially now when Lemmy is gone and you see how fragile he seems to be in that commercial already, but still he is that true and only Lemmy... and then that smile at the end. There is everything, still it is just an commercial.

Let's drink for Lemmy. Cheers!

These are some of the best shots I've seen! Makes mine look like I don't know how to use a camera! Icy winter photos have that chilling edge to them, that crispness. These are outstanding!

It must be finnish winter magic. But don't desperandom! Just enjoy life (and fall love) with your camera and that's it. No magic involved, anyone can do it. That is real magic.

Not boring at all. My nose hairs are getting cold and prickly just looking at the pics. These are gorgeous - particularly "Touched By The Sunlight". Nice work.
