CT State Psych Hospital < on 1/7/2016 4:23 AM > | Reply with Quote
Pictures from this morning's photo shoot at a former CT state psych hospital - didn't get to go into all the buildings I really wanted to since a van was driving around on site and I figured better to get the heck out of there, but I ended up stumbling on a water treatment building in the woods that supported the hospital, so that was cool!
This is just a selection of my favorites out of 30 pictures. The rest can be found on my Flickr or on my website.

Thanks, glad you liked the pictures.
I used a tripod for #6 because it was basically pitch dark where I was shooting (it's light-painted with my flashlight using a 20-second shutter at F/11), but I typically shoot hand-held.
I had my tripod but put it back in the car halfway through because it was getting to be a real pain in the ass. I think I may invest in a smaller, more portable tripod.

Went to your Flickr page to see more. You have a unique style with light and shadows that is very captivating, but the angles you choose makes it all the more interesting. VERY NICE INDEED, FBP.

Thank you very much!
I love shooting with natural light - it makes for an interesting challenge to set up lighting without having an artificial source that you can directly control - although I'm not at all adverse to using the old flashlight when it's too dark.
