Motel Crawling.

Finally getting time to sit down and do some write ups of shenanigans from the last few weeks. While on my daily commute I saw they were getting ready to start demolishing an abandoned motel (has been vacant for at least 15 years) but was home to a ton of squatters/ druggies so I'd never actually been in. Decided since it was now or never, and they were starting demo that I'd go in hopes the squatters had been run off.

The front, as you can see, some windows had previously been removed towards the "front"

Big window still in place. Like the colors.

Doors had literally been ripped off in the pull through, the windows are seriously just crazy looking.

The windows from the inside of the lobby

The lobby looked like it had been intentionally made un-useable. It was literally in just destroyed.

Also, should note that we found this right outside the pull through next to the door. It hadn't been long since someone had been there.

At this point, me and my best friend (also known as uberex on UER) decided to walk around the building to the back, then enter hoping it'd be easier then trying to navigate the ruble the lobby was. The rooms opened into the hall, but they all had balcony's that opened outside the rear wall had been ripped from. So we could literally enter basically anywhere.

We walked around to the backside, and went in towards an old ramp.

JAB_3824.jpg by rollinginthehiggs, on Flickr also passed this on the way in. Not a huge fan of painting, but someone took some time with this.

JAB_3840.jpg by rollinginthehiggs, on Flickr

This side of the building was in just as bad of shape, if not worse.

Some interesting paint trails(?) with uberex lurking in the back ground.

Once again, not a paint fan, but these colors just worked. From this point we started walking. We'd heard there was an old pool and we had to find it.

JAB_3909.jpg by rollinginthehiggs, on Flickr

old door just lurking.

JAB_3902.jpg by rollinginthehiggs, on Flickr

Where's this pool?

JAB_3923.jpg by rollinginthehiggs, on Flickr

Ah, here it is. Lurking in the wooded area.

JAB_3941.jpg by rollinginthehiggs, on Flickr

I always expect to find at least one lonely chair,on an explore. However, I didn't expect it'd be in the pool. Even creepier then usual. The pool was just dirty.

JAB_3933.jpg by rollinginthehiggs, on Flickr

Trashcan (or a lid at least) floating in the pool. It was pretty creepy.

At this point we started to head out, taking a different way then we came. The motel was far larger then expected.

Someone was upset.

A Man's gotta do What a Man's gotta do. by rollinginthehiggs, on Flickr

Awful image since we were moving quickly(ish) but this should win an award for "macgyvering". Fixed the plumbing problem. Whatever a man's gotta do to shit....

JAB_3864.jpg by rollinginthehiggs, on Flickr

Ended up coming back by this side on the way out so see what was going on with that stuff we saw earlier. Nothing had changed... yet.

JAB_3885.jpg by rollinginthehiggs, on Flickr

Where do I check in again?

Adios for now motel. I will be back before your gone, I promise. There are some extra images that didn't fit well into the set in the album on my flickr as well.

Thanks, I guess for some reason demolition has ceased (and they only knocked down part of the side) so I may try to stop back by sometime in the next day or two.

I'm just seeing this now, when was this? I Think they only took down a single part of it.
