I haven't put up a photography thread in I don't know how long so I figured what the hell. Between driving to New Jersey from Texas, going to a wedding up in Maine and taking a trip out West to the whole Utah/Idaho area, I hit about 20 states this year alone. I only shot in about half of them though since I was on a tight schedule and had to get to where I was going.

To start the year off I was able to gain permission for the old State Orphan Asylum that was later turned into a detention center and is now currently shuttered.

A few weeks later I went to San Antonio to check out a state hospital and an old hotel. Unfortunately the lady at the hospital misunderstood my request and would not open a building for me, despite my current position for the State and the 4 hour drive to get there. I managed to have her send me these 2 pictures from the 70s though of the kirkbride being torn down and the old tunnel system that used to have patient rooms down there and a track to push carts around.

In March I traveled to Colorado for a bachelor party, but was able to get out and explore prior to everybody else flying out. Also met up with UnchartedSights.

Before moving back to New Jersey in April, I managed to get permission to the old state prison I used to work at in Texas from the Warden. Death row, 2 cell blocks, 2 floors of the infirmary are currently not in use while the rest of the prison is. In order to see the Death Row you'll have to add me on Flickr.

Once back in New Jersey I slowed up with exploring a bit. I met up with a few local New Jersey fellas and went to some local theaters. Ive shot them multiple times in the past so I didnt take any pictures this time.

Went to a few different mines around PA and NY. If you want to see all the PA ones and the rest of the NY, you'll have to add me on Flickr since they're hidden from the public.

Went to my sisters Wedding up in Liberty Park in Jersey City and ran over to take a couple shots of the depot. Drink in hand of course.

Stopped to check out this old prison on the way home from a train tunnel that was in the middle of no where in PA.

Took a nice row out to this island off the coast of New York in an inflatable raft with 2 friends.

Went to this old Powder Works plant.

Early October before taking my trip to the West, I had to go up to Maine for a good friends wedding. I didnt explore, but I did take a few shots of the coast

A week later I took a 10 day trip to Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Nevada with IndoAnomaly. Saw 3 state hospitals, 3 mines, a train roundhouse, closed Sonic Drive In, a mine disaster town, decommissioned airplanes, the airplane from Con Air, a few ore processing mills, an old state prison, and of course Yellowstone.

In early November I took my raft out once again, but this time it was to Bannermans Island to check out the huge castle that currently sits in the middle of the Hudson.

Finished the year off with a theater. Its currently being turned into apartments so the theater part will be completely gone soon.

I didnt put every single place I went to on here but if you're interested to see the rest of my West trip, you can just click on my flickr link and view. I apologize that some of the albums are hidden, so not everybody will be able to see(unless you add me on flickr), but I wanted to try and protect the places and respect any explorers that may live in the area that they're in. Thanks for looking!

Yeah I agree those mines are pretty sweet. I've hit a few up in southeastern NYS. You remind me to do more...

Nice year!

Nice shots man! Without getting too specific what field do you work in that sometimes allows you to get inside these places? I'm legitimately curious because that sounds like my dream career!

Nice work, but you should have posted a picture of you in that suit you found at the theaters and wore the ENTIRE DAY.
