Hi all,

I wanted to post some shots from a few different sets to get some feedback. These are some of my personal favorites from my different sets, please let me know what you think and how they can be improved. Thanks!

'Schoolhouse' feels over-processed. So much so, that you've lost all details in the shadows, it looks like there is a spotlight shining on the house, and it has this kind of in-your-face HDR look to it. But we don't know if that is what you were aiming for. Also, the processing on the last photo makes it look flat/ appear to have no depth.

Thanks for the feedback! I always liked the schoolhouse, it was one of my first attempts at photography but looking back it does seem over-processed.

What do you suggest to prevent the "flat" photos? Would a shallower DOF improve that? I've noticed that on quite a few of my pictures.

Schoolhouse is overcooked, IMO. You have some blown out highlights on the camera-facing wall, as well as some halo-ing around the trees in a few places. I notice similiar halo-ing in the gas station one as well.

You're BWs look great, though.

Your photo of the gas station is incredible! The broken window looks like a framed oil painting. Excellent shot.

I'd say the same thing, the color shots are over edited. I'd suggest adjusting the levels instead of doing so much HDR.

That being said, HDR can be a great thing. I'm not sure if you used it in the first one, but that first shot is great.

thanks for giving it a try

Thank you for the feedback! I've been more cognizant of the haloing on the trees and horizons in recent edits. The top photo is from my most recent set.

Thank you! I don't use HDR but I will definitely be more aware of over-processing in the future.
